Jabiru is in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park. A unique opportunity has arisen for a full time, 6 month fixed term Mechanic's position to see us through the peak dry season. This position is responsible for vehicle maintenance and repairs within the BP Jabiru workshop. You will have a sound knowledge of workshop machinery, automotive parts, job/labour pricing and general workshop procedures. You will work within the only commercial workshop located in a unique remote environment.

Applicants should possess the following:

* Relevant qualifications in Automotive Industry

* Minimum 2 years post trade experience

* Experience across diverse range of light vehicle servicing and repairing

* Excellent work ethic

* Ability to use computers and good record keeping skills

* Knowledge of WHS

* National Police Clearance with no criminal convictions

* Own tools to use alongside workshop tools

Desirable
* Conducting Road Worthy inspections

* Current MR Drivers License

This position is in Jabiru, 250km east of Darwin.

This position is a 6 month fixed term contract with 3 month probation period. The job is Monday - Friday 38 hours a week, plus you will be required to go on a rotating after hours call out roster for breakdowns for which you will be paid additional monies. You will also receive a competitive salary and 1 bedroom unit supplied rent free (electricity at own expense) for the duration of the contract.
