- Carry out repairs and maintenance of water and sewer infrastructure efficiently.
- Assist with forward planning and organisation of jobs.
- Supervise and train apprentices as required.

The Plumber/Drainer and Meter Reading Organiser will work collaboratively with the Water Services team to achieve the safe and efficient delivery of water and sewerage services to customers.
To be successful, you will have the ability to read plans and technical drawings, have sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements and SafePlan requirements as well as have competence with computer/tablet technology.

More specifically, the key requirements for success include the following and these should be addressed in your selection response:
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual labouring tasks in tropical conditions;
- Good communication, time management and organisational skills;
- Ability to use small plant and tools.
- Good interpersonal skills as required for supervision of labourers and apprentices;
- Ability to prepare Risk Assessments;
- Demonstrated knowledge of water and sewer infrastructure and associated fittings including appropriate application and;
- Experience in general construction and maintenance activities within the water industry including trench excavation, pipe laying, repairs, entering confined spaces etc.
Qualifications/Licences:
- Minimum qualification: Licenced Provisional Plumber and Provisional Drainer with the Queensland Building Construction Commission;
- Current C Class Drivers licence and;
- General Safety Construction Induction Card.
It is desired that you have a Traffic Control Licence, Confined Space training, Safe Work Practices training, Breathing Apparatus and PPE training, Experience with minor plumbing repair works for buildings including roofing and flashing as well as Backflow accreditation.
