This private growing company in the chemical processing sector is seeking a Technical Services Manager – Laboratory Services.
Duties and responsibilities will include:

Manage plant QA/QC program. Initiate and implement plant QA/QC program based on industry best practice.

Oversee the effective management of all laboratory performance and outcomes.

Ensures lab assistants are adequately trained, equipped and motivated, so that QA/QC program can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the process operators.

Ensures all statutory regulations relating to the QA/QC laboratory are met at all times.

Works with Operations Manager to ensure effective participation by the process operators in the implementation of QA/QC policies and procedures.

Implement and maintain as environmental control program, including testing and reporting as required by regulatory agencies.

Develop test methods, analytical procedures and other relevant QA/QC procedures.

Actively participate in crew and department activities (including: definition of best practices, consensus decision making, SOP development and maintenance, training, continuous improvement efforts and standardization).

Work in an organized and safe manner; address safety and housekeeping concerns.
Skills and experience should cover:
-
The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, or Microbiology along with experience within a fermentation environment and experience in a QA/QC laboratory.

Experience with implementing effective QA/QC programs.

Ability and willingness to offer support out of hours to Lab facilities and services

Experience with environmental testing and reporting.

Expertise and proficiency with MS Office software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets, project management, database.

Expertise in Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS) for reporting & archiving analysis results.
