About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager of Property, the National Facilities Manager will ensure the effective functioning of the G8 facility management processes within budget, to provide an efficient and safe working environment for team members, children and families through best business practices. This role will manage resources, services and processes that meet G8 Education’s needs which will be achieved through ongoing coaching and mentoring of the Facilities team.

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Implement and oversee the management of a centralised strategy of facility refurbishment and renovations
• Implement best practice systems and processes to increase organisational efficiency
• Coordinate, monitor, measure and report on the activities of contract suppliers
• Ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met on time and to standard
• Develop a high performing Facilities team to deliver effective facilities management of building works while meeting all safety, quality, cost and time expectations
• Full responsibility of delegated facility budget to ensure expenditure on an annual basis
• Development and implementation of cost reduction initiatives for the business, including negotiation of key contracts to optimise delivery and cost savings

Essential Criteria:

• 7+ years’ experience in a similar, senior role (preferably in Early Education Facilities)
•  Qualification in Facilities Management
• Good working knowledge of facilities management and Early Education operations requirements
• Strong knowledge of work order management processes, estimating, resource allocation etc.
• Demonstrated skills in project management, procurement and negotiation
• Strong understanding of building, electrical and plumbing, combined with a strong understanding of proper safety practices and procedures
• Proven ability to read and understand blueprints and/or schematic diagrams
• Proven leadership experience and team work skills, with the ability to lead and motivate others
• Current Australian Drivers Licence
• Flexibility to undertake domestic travel as required
• Hold a current Working with Children Check or ability to undertake one if successful
