The Role
The position operates in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment that requires a motivated individual to actively participate and contribute to a wide range of business issues. The incumbent will need to thrive in a team environment, creating definition and direction from conceptual needs of stakeholders.
Key accountabilities:
- Provision of commercial advice in working across several business units and with external agencies to interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedures to obtain and maintain land access for gas and petroleum related activities
- Subject matter expert for delivering land access related agreements and contracts
- Assisting in the coordination and management of indemnity claims or claims for additional compensation under existing land access agreements
- Drafting and negotiating complicated land access agreements.
- Assisting to deliver on ongoing management of contractual obligations
- Facilitating land access compliance and internal contract governance compliance
You will also be required to have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law and/or other relevant qualification
- High level of legal skill and commercial acumen in drafting agreements, analysing facts and circumstances and interpreting legislation, policy and contracts
- Sound understanding of rural communities, rural land practices and the agricultural sector
- Excellent business acumen
- The ability to work independently and as a team player, working with own team and across teams
