About us
 
The NSW Crime Commission is a statutory body established under the Crime Commission Act 2012 (NSW). The Commission has a Management Committee which is comprised of five members: the Commissioner, the Commissioner of the NSW Police Force, Chairperson of the Australian Crime Commission, the Secretary of the Department of Justice, with an independent Chairperson, who is currently the Hon Anthony Whealy SC. 
 
The Commission works collaboratively with the NSW Police Force and other law enforcement agencies in investigating organised crime activity in such areas as: the high level illicit drug trade, terrorism, money laundering, identity and cyber-crime, serious firearms offences and organised crime.
 
About the role 

 
In the first six months of the role, your priority will be the transition and implementation of a new organisation structure. This is an opportunity to re-model the Crime Commission to reflect a modern, efficient and well-structured agency. You will be involved in negotiations regarding the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 and its application to Commission employees.

 
The ongoing accountabilities in this role will include leading the Commission to achieve the six corporate objectives as outlined in the role description.

 
What we are looking for?

 
You will have extensive experience in leadership within an investigative, inquisitorial or judicial framework and this role will allow you to showcase your ability and desire to inspire direction and purpose in all employees of the Commission.

 
Your integrity will be exemplary and you will be results driven. Your collaboration skills will be utilised whilst you are promoting and maintaining partnerships with both law enforcement and other security agencies – with particular emphasis on investigating cybercrime.

 
You are required to have special legal qualifications as defined in section 4(2) of the Crime Commission Act 2012 (NSW).
