The Firm

Our client is a top tier, international firm that is recognised for not only the scope of their commercial practices but also for the genuine career prospects extended to staff. They pride themselves on a collaborative and supportive culture and an uncompromising dedication to client service delivery.

The Team

The team has a focus on mergers and acquisitions and joint venture arrangements in the resources sector; access to rail and port infrastructure; safety legislation affecting the coal industry in Queensland; and operational requirements of energy and resources clients.

They are recognised for their work across varied sectors including energy, infrastructure, mining and commodities, transport, technology and innovation to name but a few.

The Role

Increased demand by new and existing clients has created an opportunity for an Associate to join the Corporate team. Working across the practice, the key responsibilities and requirements include:

  • Advising energy and resources clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, operational management and mine development
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Assisting senior staff with a variety of transactions

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' post admission experience within an international or top tier firm, experience in corporate law - in particular with acquisitions and disposals, restructurings, mergers and joint ventures within the energy and resources industry.

Naturally, you will have excellent drafting and communication skills and work well within a team environment where service delivery is paramount.
