Indirect Tax Specialist (Insurance and Financial Services)
Fixed 12 month contract

Our public sector client has a great opportunity. You will be working to develop, manage and deliver GST Financial Services and Insurance Strategy and assists the business community and broader industry segments through private/public advice, guidance and direct client engagement.

The role:

This is a tax specialist position, focusing on the leadership of the GST Financial Supplies and Insurance strategy, within the Indirect Tax area.  The focus is on risk mitigation, obtaining greater assurance, developing technical capability and effectiveness measures. 

In this role you will:

• Be responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of the GST Financial Supplies and Insurance strategy
• Provide expert technical and/or operational advice, leadership and direction to staff and other stakeholders in the development of strategies and resolution of complex technical issues
• Provide leadership in the management of the business and its people
• Devise solutions to complex policy or operational problems in relation to GST Financial Supplies, Insurance and associated legislation where guidelines are lacking

Your key skills, knowledge and experience:

• Extensive knowledge/experience in the application of Financial Supplies and Insurance GST legislation
• Highly developed ability to interpret and apply legislation
• Highly developed negotiation and relationship management skills
• Excellent mentoring and coaching skills
