The company:
This business works with a large number of government clients advising them on a range of commercial issues including the provision of legal advice and support.

About the role:
Reporting the the head of legal, you will work within a team of seven in the legal function. Your matters will have an employment law focus, including:
  • advising across all aspects of employment law and industrial relations including workforce strategy, workforce investigations, and industrial advocacy in the QIRC and Fair Work Commission;
  • negotiating with a number of unions on agreements, awards and enterprise bargaining;
  • providing training to clients on WR/IR issues; and
  • advising clients in an efficient manner via a legal helpdesk.  
Skills/Experience:
To be considered for this role you will have: 
  • 3-6 years' PAE and an unrestricted practicing certificate;
  • demonstrated experience in employment law and industrial relations as outlined above, particularly experience in the QIRC;
  • ideally large law firm training and some in-house experience relevant to the above; and
  • a commercial approach allowing you to manage a variety of client relationships.
