We currently have an opportunity for minimum 6 years PQE tax lawyer or corporate/commercial lawyer with a keen interest in tax to join our team. We need an open-minded dynamic lawyer to join us and help us service our busy practice.

You will have to be a strong, technically proficient tax lawyer or commercial/corporate lawyer with a keen interest in tax.

We are looking for these abilities:

• Ability to convert theoretical advice into practical solutions, with the focus on the objectives and needs of clients;
• Ability to convert advice to document transactions;
• Ability to network, and build on our existing client base
• Ability to use your highly developed drafting skills for complex matters;
• Ability to work both alone and within a team, with excellent communication and mentoring skills.

You will be exposed to a broad range of commercial transactional work where you will have lots of opportunities to master the art of interpreting a complex patchwork of tax laws and applying them to modern business structures. You will provide taxation advice and structuring for private clients/ small business, and have a broad knowledge of tax including income tax, CGT, GST, superannuation and state taxes.

Our team of solicitors has significant experience and expertise in both accounting and law. Our principal, Kevin Munro has over 38 years’ experience in the tax advisory field and has assisted many clients and accountants with estate planning, asset protection, commercial transactions and tax dispute resolution matters. The firm principally advises clients introduced by other professionals including accountants, financial planners and lawyers. Our clients are mostly private family businesses, both city based and rural. Our firm has particular expertise with taxation issues arising in the commercial context. Our specialist taxation knowledge coupled with broad commercial and accounting skills are valuable assets to enable us to understand our client’s business, identify potential tax issues and provide them with tax effective solutions. Our firm prides itself on being able to assist in the interpretation of tax laws, providing clients with practical and commercial advice and the ability to implement a suitable strategy to minimise their tax exposure.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior level lawyer to join an expanding and growing team.  The role offers scope to grow in the firm. The principals are looking towards the firm’s future leaders.
