We are seeking a junior lawyer (1-3 PAQ) for a full-time, fixed term (3 month) contract to join our legal department at Domino's.  

This is a role suited to an energetic, dynamic and independent individual who can work with a legal team, executive management, franchisees, stakeholders and tradespeople. Only candidates with strong drafting and communication skills, commercial experience and an interest in construction and consumer issues should apply.  

 

The Contract term is 3 months. Immediate start available. 

 

Who we are

 

Domino's Pizza Enterprises Limited is a large ASX-listed organisation based at Hamilton, Brisbane.  We are a franchise system and the largest pizza chain in Australia.  We are an established, collegiate, fast paced and high-performing Legal Team. This candidate will split their time during the week between our Hamilton Harbour Headoffice and our construction office based at Aspley, Brisbane. 

 

Who are we looking for?

 

We are seeking a lawyer to provide advisory services to our construction business, executive management and key stakeholders. The candidate must be commercially-minded, pragmatic with a strong ability to manage people, expectations, time and matters in a professional and helpful manner.  The candidate will be responsible for a variety of general commercial matters, providing advice on business activities or projects.

 

We will provide training for the role in a supportive and friendly environment and we encourage ongoing education and skill training.  We are looking for a candidate who is a quick learner, a problem solver, takes the initiative and thrives in a fast paced environment. 

 

Typical Tasks

 

The candidate's typical tasks may include:

 

  • Provide legal advice on a broad range of legal topics including building and constructions, franchising, business, corporations, trade practices, Australian Consumer Law, risk management, compliance, trademarks, intellectual property, privacy, data protection, spam, contracts, property, leasing;
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on contracts, supply arrangements, licences, sub-franchise agreements;
  • Assist with the debt recovery process for, which may include drafting letters of demand;  
  • Create a precedent database for construction contracts;
  • Conduct legal research and investigate matters, develop oral and written advice and present recommendations to members of the business;
  • Conduct and participate in in-house training seminars;
  • Assist to develop policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practice;
  • Manage and respond to general legal enquiries from internal and external stakeholders; and 
  • any other activities required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified legal practitioner admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland;
  • Australian resident;
  • General commercial law, construction and consumer law experience desirable.
