The Underwriting team based in Melbourne is looking for a Senior Underwriter to provide quality service to one of our largest Group funds.
Reporting to the Underwriting Team Manager your key accountabilities will be underwriting proposals ensuring decisions are within guidelines and are reasonable. Ability to request information and successfully obtain same telephonically as part of our tele-underwriting model. Liaising with members to ensure applications are underwritten in a timely manner. Gaining an understanding of risk management in an underwriting environment and assisting in the resolution of disputes.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience in life insurance and ideally underwriting experience. Having a degree or commenced insurance studies is highly desirable. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. In addition possess strong time management skills, ability to prioritise and an eye for detail will ensure your success.
