Summary

The Senior Investigations Advisor delivers advice/support on a range of fraud prevention, detection, training, and investigation services to the Fraud and Intelligence Teams

The Role

A key accountability of the role is to drive and support the operational requirements and outcomes of any of the business area’s we support such ad Personal Injury, Motor & Property Investigations

In addition, the role is pivotal in coaching and mentoring Fraud and Intelligence Teams to strengthen the skills of team members and enhance a broader investigative function.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of investigation training tools to enable effective and efficient management of claim investigations.
• Provide leadership and guidance in the recruitment of staff and development planning.
• Act as the liaison officer and Authorised Representative for all State, Commonwealth and Territory law enforcement bodies and other judicial authorities, and provide statements and briefs of evidence for fraud investigations to assist with criminal prosecutions and court attendances as required.
• Represent the Suncorp Group at relevant court/tribunal hearings, and provide highly professional evidence and support to disputed investigations/criminal proceedings.
• Assist the Fraud Service Advisor Lead with the management our external investigation panel and when required, provide them with advice and support on investigation strategies and requirements to promote a high standard of investigation outcomes.
• Develop and engage the Intelligence function to identify and apply tactical and strategic responses to organised insurance fraud.
• Assist in understanding of emerging needs and opportunities for Fraud and Intelligence in close partnership with other internal business functions. 
• Facilitate immersion sessions across the business to enhance stakeholder awareness of our investigation function, and foster a systematic approach to fraud awareness and detection. 

Skills & Experience

• Practical qualifications in investigation (desired)
• Tertiary degree in investigations or law (desired)
• Training and Assessment qualifications are highly (desired)
• Proven expertise in complex fraud investigations. Mandatory (General, Commercial, CTP, Workers Compensation)
• Skilled facilitator with strong presentation expertise
• Proven expertise in insurance claims management
• Ability to review business processes and make recommendations for improvement, taking into consideration operational efficiencies, fraud risks and user requirements
• Proven Insurance Investigations experience, sound knowledge of current issues & investigation techniques
