About the role

As the Senior Claims Advisor, you will provide a superior level of customer service whilst maintaining a commercial focus on achieving business outcomes. You will be responsible for the proactive and cost-effective settlement of a portfolio of claims of high complexity in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

More specifically you will

• Proactively manage a portfolio of claims in accordance with legislative, regulatory and procedural guidelines to achieve cost effective and timely settlements
• Ensure legislative compliance timeframes are met in conjunction with ongoing review of medical, financial, investigative and rehabilitation reports
• Overall management of individual claims to ensure appropriate strategies are followed in order to reduce the average duration and cost of claims
• Proactively manage a portfolio of claims in accordance with legislative, regulatory and procedural guidelines to achieve cost effective and timely claim resolutions
• Maintain a constant customer focus by working with customers, team members and third parties to find solutions consistent with their needs and the business objectives.
• Provide subject matter expertise into divisional or statutory projects and initiatives as required, ensuring a best practice approach is considered.
• Contribute a high level of technical skills and knowledge in the negotiation and settlement of claims

Knowledge and Experience

• Several years of WC injury claims experience or equitant claims management experience
• Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner and in line with delegated authority
• Strong problem-solving skills and being able to seek out information/ breakdown problems into simple lists of components, options or alternatives
• Ability to convey and explain information coherently and confidently both written and oral
• Proficient use and knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong time management skills and ability to priorities work without supervision
• Negotiation skills in the ability to explore opportunities with a view to mutual benefit and acceptance
