About the Opportunity

This is a key position within the Finance Team which has responsibility for assisting the Head of Actuarial (Pricing, Value and Analytics) with reporting New Business Value and Embedded Value, as well as meeting ad hoc business requests that impact value.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Head of Head of Actuarial (Pricing, Value and Analytics) in the production and reporting of TDA’s New Business Value and Embedded Value each month.
• Developing and managing processes to ensure integrity, accuracy and analysis of value metrics and their movement
• Responding to business requests for insights and advanced analysis on value to assist Pricing, Product and Finance stakeholders
• Managing and enhancing business plan projections of value
• Managing and completing ad hoc requests around insights and reporting
• Assisting with Long Term Incentive reporting and monitoring
• Developing, implementing and managing processes that ensure integrity and accuracy of value analysis and reporting
• Enabling business decision making by delivering valuable insights on the financial impact on value of business experience 
• Working with business managers to support implementation of responsive business systems and metrics that will drive value in line with business objectives
• Challenging business units pro-actively through delivering useful insight and information on value
• Designing and implementing financial/actuarial tools to support the above activities.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• FIAA or equivalent academic qualification
• In depth understanding of risk products and the Australian life insurance industry
• At least three years’ experience in embedded value or valuation roles
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong Excel skills
• Pragmatic and solution driven approach
• Excellent communication skills including Board-level report writing and verbal communication
• Pro-activity
• Commercial acumen
• Understanding of life insurance business (desirable)
