The Role
As a Case Manager you are responsible for processing claims across a range of functions, including Death, Total Permanent Disability (TPD), Permanent Incapacity (PI), Terminal Illness Benefit (TIB) and Income Protection (IP). The Case Manager is a vital component of the Claims team and your primary role is to ensure that member / claimant claims are correctly set up in the initial claiming phase and paid correctly at the end of the process. 


Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Portfolio management 
  • To develop a high level of claims knowledge to ensure the best possible service is provided to the member/claimant
  • Build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally 
  • Ensure the processing of claims in completed in an acceptable and timely manner with 100% accuracy
  • To go above and beyond for members by ensuring you fully understand the member’s circumstances, issues, needs and expectations
  • Take personal ownership and accountability of claims
  • Ensure all legislative requirements and guidelines are followed at all times


Skills and experience 

  • Proven experience in Case Management or similar role within Group Life Claims, ideally
  • Ability to effectively handle different conversations and put yourself in the members shoes
  • Great organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Group insurance knowledge (including Death, TPD, TIB and PI claims processes)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Superannuation knowledge preferred 
  • RG146 compliant or a willingness to undertake if required


The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for customer service, both internal and external, exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and as a team to achieve shared goals and deadlines.
