Situated CBD Darwin, Char Restaurant, in ‘Old Admiralty House’, is on the hunt for a talented Restaurant Manager who is essentially looking for a role working with people, to ‘lead’our team of front and back of house operations. Our ideal candidate is someone skilled at handling interpersonal communications, and someone with the ability to create a positive experience for each and every customer. We are looking for someone, who is excited to come to work every day and who’s ready to tackle challenges and develop a team that’s almost like a second family. 

 

The Restaurant Manager is in charge of coordinating restaurant operations, managing customer satisfaction, coordinating employee scheduling (time in attendance), monitoring compliance with regulations, supervising and developing a team and above all championing and promoting the Char Restaurant brand. 

 

The person we are looking for, will be an experienced Restaurant Manager, who possesses a confident, enthusiasticand forward-thinking mentality, who demonstrates an effective 'hands-on' approach to team management, with a strong organisational ability. You will have experience working within a high end restaurant, possess an award winning mentality with a proven ability of working within a strict budget.

 

Experience & Skills

 

• 5 + years experience within a fast paced & high end a la carte restaurant manager role 

• Strong communication & interpersonal skills 

• Passionate and with knowledge of the food service industry and modern industry food & beverage trends 

• Computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems and software 

 

Key Competencies

 

• Excellent customer service skills and fantastic interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to delegate effectively.   

• Display leadership abilities, with a passion for motivating & developing teams and minimising staff turn over. (Those with experience working with teams of varying and differing cultures and nationalities would be highly regarded).

• Task driven, with a focus on meeting core objectives

• Customer-centric approach to management

• Hands on approach to management and the type of personality to lead and mentor people in a fast paced venue, think on your feet, multi-task and build strong rapport with your peers and key stakeholders.

• Proven management procedures to undertake weekly trend analysis of sales, cost of goods sold, wages, spend per head and covers.
