Navy Canteens operates Canteens on all Royal Australian Navy Bases across Australia.
The role is based at Larrakeyah Army barracks (incorporating HMAS Coonawarra) which is located approximately 2km west of Darwin CBD,
In the role of Business Manager you will work as a trusted and integral senior team member reporting directly to the National Operations Manager. At the direction of the National Operations Manager you will assist in the operational management of all Navy Canteen Darwin based operations, with particular focus on industry standards, product and service delivery, implementing quality control, and managing key stakeholder relationships. You will also be responsible for assisting with the coordinating and management of HACCP compliance, as well as Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
Formal hospitality industry based training will also be provided if required.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role (Food Franchise and/or Hospitality industry preferred)
- Qualified Chef or Commercial Cookery qualifications/ experience
- Excellent working knowledge of food handling & food hygiene standards
- Demonstrated experience with HACCP procedures
- Demonstrated experience in managing WHS matters
- A proven ability to plan, develop, and execute business improvement strategies
- Experience in Quality Control processes and COGS
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly developed employee management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to motivate, support and lead a team.
The successful candidate will need to be an Australian Resident, have their own reliable transport and hold a current drivers licence. You will also be required to pass a security clearance for Base access. Please note that previous applicants need not apply.
