We are searching for a passionate Accounting Manager to join our Finance team, someone with a strong attention to detail who demonstrates numerical accuracy, is systems savvy and has the ability to communicate and provide support to a large hotel management team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will:

  • Manage, supervise, guide and train the remote outsourced AR, AP, Income Audit team on daily and monthly tasks in accordance with all local and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Credit/Accounts Receivable - maintain proper credit procedures, credit reference and maintenance, control and monitor prompt and accurate billing (includes prepared complex group billing) and collection of all accounts receivable and deposits in accordance with credit control policies and procedures. Conduct credit meeting, handling guest queries promptly plus all credit related tasks.
  • Assisting in month end closing, maintaining the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and annual external audit.
  • Assisting in preparation of the annual budgets and weekly forecasts.
  • Assisting in administration of all financial aspect of the hotel's operation.
  • Assisting in ensuring all local and corporate policies and procedures and ensuring proper internal controls are maintained and followed.
  • Assisting in statutory reporting and tax return.
    Coordinate and, observe month end inventory, food and beverage costing and reporting.
  • Actively support other department managers with matters dealing with productivity standards, payroll, reporting and other issues that may arise.

Key Attributes and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hospitality environment preferred
  • Degree (business, accounting or finance) and or CA qualified
  • Experience in managing an out-sourced accounting team an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail & numerical accuracy
  • Analytically and commercially minded
  • Ability to problem solve and take initiative to ask questions & investigate anomalies
  • Proven ability to communicate well at all levels and with all stakeholders
  • Systems savvy especially with hospitality applications (Opera, Mircos, Avero, Birchstreet, Scala etc.)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
