This position is permanent part time starting with approximately 16 to 32 hours per week and requires you to be available to accommodate a 7 day roster everyday during the year (not just during the holidays).
What is the role?
Fryhard Takeaway is looking for an experienced, well presented, energetic, attention to detail and highly motivated short order cook.
And….
- You will be making and preparing burgers, fish and chips, salads and hotbox items such as chiko rolls, sea scallops, spring rolls etc.
- You will be performing food prep on fresh fish, vegetables and condiments.
- You will be ensuring the kitchen is always at a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
- You will be providing Customer Service both face to face and over the phone
- You will be required to have knowledge of food safety.
- You will be performing general cleaning duties
- You must have full availablity
- You must be able to work at Carseldine
- Live close by or have own transport
This position would be perfect for an experienced cook or cafe all rounder who loves working with food and looking for long term employment within our team at Fryhard
What skills, knowledge and attitude do I need?
Our store is extremely high volume during dinner service and weekends therefore you must have previously worked in a similarly busy cafe or takeaway shop for at least 2 years as a short order cook.

- You to be a team player with a strong focus on providing quality food with excellent presentation.
- Self-starter who is able to maintain constant attention to detail to ensure Fryhards high quality standards are maintained
- You to have the ability to work under pressure and multi task
- You to be able to work efficiently in a fasted paced environment.
- You to have the ability to work efficiently and proactively unsupervised.
Store trading hours
Monday: 11:30am to 7:30pm
Tuesday to Thursday: 11:00am to 8:00pm
Friday to Saturday: 11:00am to 8:30pm
Sunday: 11:00am to 7:30pm
