An experienced Cook/ Retail Assistant is required at our new concept store, Short Order at Newstead.
Specialising in high quality produce locally sourced chickens & meats cooked on a french rotisserie, the successful applicant will possess a geniune love of cooking and a willingness to be a part of a small, dynamic and fast paced team.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Salad, vegetable and meat preparation, operation of chickens and roasts
- Morning savoury production
- Production planning in conjuction with Head chef
- Offer support to kitchen where needed
- Par level upkeep
- Order taking and serving customers
- Open and close procedures including end of day reconciliation on KOUNTA (desirable not essential)
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience with a knowledge of savoury cooking is preferred - additional training will be provided
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work unsupervised
- Adaptable and hard working
- Passionate, enthusiastic about food & great produce
- Eye for quality and detail
- Retail food sales and experience with POS
- Approximately 20- 30 hours, must be able to work weekdays and weekends
- Only day shifts
