A Private Club in the Sydney CBD is looking for an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our professional team. As Sous Chef you will work closely with our Executive Chef in ensuring the highest standard of presentation and service for both a la carte and private dining. The Club operates from Monday to Friday, offering the perfect work/life balance.

Duties:

  • Responsible for planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen.
  • Supervision and scheduling of staff.
  • Responsible for effective ordering, menu planning and stock control.
  • Staff management.
  • Ability to inspire staff to perform at their best.

Requirements:

  • Currently working in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and development skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Passion for food and a flair for menu design.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to produce fine food.
  • Proactive approach to system improvements.
  • Proven and relevant experience within other quality Clubs, Restaurants or Hotel dining.
  • Hands on approach in assuring the highest level of production and service.
  • Food safety certificate.
  • Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
  • Legally eligible to work in Australia.
  • Relevant trade certificate.
