Job Summary & Responsibilities

Cater Care are currently seeking a Part Time Chef 4 Days/week to support the kitchen at an Aged Care facility in Manly, NSW.

The key to our success is our people. Your role in this environment is to provide friendly, attentive and efficient service to our valued residents through the cooking of a variety of meals, preparation of ingredients and food service.

This position is a hands on position requiring you to work alongside the Chef Manager to to prepare and cook meals for approx 120 residents.

Please note: successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police Clearance before commencing.

Roster: Monday & Tuesday 6.30am - 3.00pm, Saturday & Sunday 9:00am - 5:30pm

Salary: $23.42 / hour plus weekend penalty rates

Reporting to the Chef Manager, the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities include:

Preparation of ingredients/menu- adherence to service times with consistency and quality of food product
Special diets and diet requirements including allergies/intolerances, supplements and texture modified soft & purees
Monitoring food costs and ordering
Monitoring and promoting kitchen hygiene and HACCP
Work in a busy kitchen environment

Key Criteria:

Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
Previous experience cooking within Aged Care an advantage
A passion for great food and customer service
Strong OH&S awareness
Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
Ability to work in fast pace environment and multi task

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar role working in Aged Care, Health or Hospitals. You will be a well presented and self-motivated individual who has excellent organisational and communication skills.
