About the Program/Role

Our new Integrated Mental Health Service supports clients with case management, counselling and group work in an integrated, stepped care model ensuring people suffering from mental illness have a holistic wrap around service to support their needs and keep them engaged in services and the community.

Based in Karratha, key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake initial assessments of referred clients to develop and implement individualised case management/ behavioural and therapeutic support plans
  • Conduct a range of culturally appropriate interventions with clients and families, to address psychological issues and minimise destructive/harmful behaviour
  • Actively participate in regular supervision sessions to ensure quality of practice and professional development
  • Support the team in developing a greater understanding of psychological issues and identification of clients who would benefit from suitable interventions
  • Undertake relevant administrative tasks such as a preparation of referrals, reporting etc.

Qualifications & experience

  • Clinical skills in psychological counselling with individuals including children using brief intervention strategies
  • Registered Psychologist with counselling experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver service outcomes on time and in compliance with funding requirements.
  • Experience of working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities (CALD) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders including the ability to work with a complex comorbid client group.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in community and social outcomes.
  • Ability to take ownership of outcomes and achieve results in line with set timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with others, engaging key stakeholders, sharing information appropriately and ensuring people are kept informed of progress, changes and issues.
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Experience in, or willingness to work in a remote location.
