headspace Bega is a comprehensive and free youth health service that provides physical and mental health support, information and services to young people aged 12-25 and their families. The lead agency for headspace Bega is Grand Pacific Health. headspace Bega is a new and innovative model which will offer services to young people from the Bega hub and from outreach locations in Eden, Narooma and Cooma.
About the Opportunity
The Youth Access Clinician is an integral member of the headspace team as the first point of contact for young people and referrers to headspace Bega and outreach locations. The Youth Access Clinician will provide comprehensive assessment, triage and referral to both internal headspace service streams and external services. The youth access clinicians will also provide brief person-centered interventions, youth counselling and care coordination to young people seeking support.

This position is full time and for a fixed term until June 30 2019 with possibility for extension.
About the Person
You will have qualifications in health, behavioral/social sciences, community services or a related discipline. Experience in screening and assessment activities to determine client needs, conducting risk assessments, and experience at delivering brief therapeutic interventions, counselling services and treatment planning essential.
