About the business
Our services provide community members with a full range of services to help address general health and identified Aboriginal health issues such as chronic disease, cardio-vascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, poor diet and nutritional health, eye health, ear health, contagious diseases, drug and alcohol related issues, mental health and emotional and spiritual well-being.
Our medical centre provides quality care with specialist services from visiting podiatrists, cardiologists, dieticians and physiotherapists.
Biripi helps families and individuals to access and participate in Aboriginal community activities, programs and events. We also encourage families and the wider community to participate in health promotion activities such as dental check-ups, medical checks and other services.
About the role
The Practice Coordinator will provide high level practice management and administrative support to facilitate excellence in care to Biripi people in accordance with Biripi model of care and in alignment with the business and strategic plans.
With a focus on client service and experience, the incumbent will lead the delivery of front-line care services by ensuring the coordination and service-wide application of systems to support the needs of an allied health multidisciplinary team.
We are seeking 2 enthusiastic Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander people to fill the position of Practice Coordinator, one at Taree Town Clinic and the other at Purfleet Clinic.

Skills and experience
Essential Criteria
- Aboriginality
- Certificate or Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline and/or substantial experience in a similar practice management role or setting within the health sector.
- High level working knowledge of Medicare Benefits Scheme, WorkCover and health insurance systems and processes.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member.
- A NSW Driver's license
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in an Aboriginal organisation
- Current Advanced First Aid certificate.
- Previous experience in the use of Best Practice
