About the role

Join a growing team to lead sales for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), which is the first global launch market to sell the Automated Plate Assessment System (APAS).  APAS Independence is the first and only FDA Cleared instrument that uses artificial intelligence to automate imaging, analysis and interpretation of culture plates following incubation.  You have the opportunity to lead this effort- focusing on pathology laboratories (public and private), as well as large industrial labs with a focus on processing samples in microbiology laboratories.  You will need an understanding of clinical microbiology and be comfortable working with Lab Directors and Scientists, working to understand their workflow and articulate what is a clear value proposition and benefit to their laboratory.  A consultative selling approach is required in selling what is a high value capital item which is also a new technology being brought to laboratories around the world.  This is an opportunity to get in early, deliver sales within the ANZ market and also have influence in how the instrument can be sold in markets around the world. 

What you would be doing

You'll be working in the following environment:

  • Pathology laboratories (Public & Private) as well as large industrial labs with a focus on processing samples in Microbiology laboratories
  • APAS Products designed and manufactured as IVD products and are regulated requiring CE Mark, FDA clearance and compliant with Australian TGA regulations

You'll be doing:

  • Selling high value capital instrument sales to clinical and industrial laboratories throughout Australia & New Zealand
  • Develop & implement plans to grow the business in line with Corporate objectives.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with prospects, customers and opinion leaders within the region. Raising profile and image of the technology will be a focus of this activity.
  • Maintains & documents current and updated information on contacts and organisations within the region using the CRM tools provided. This includes periodical reporting including sales funnel data and trends.
  • Maintains and meets the company’s business and administrative requirements.
  • Displays and demonstrates the company’s product line at trade shows, product launches and fora as required by the business.
  • Investigates and works with the instrument service team to resolve customer service issues should they arise.
  • Work closely with the company’s sales and marketing team to develop selling tools and marketing materials
  • Accountability to the Sales budget Achieve meeting/exceeding sales forecast objectives for all APAS products and related accessories, while achieving strategic goals and other financial targets.
  • Represent the company in a highly professional manner in order to instil confidence with current and prospective customers of products to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct sales calls, build rapport, and make presentations to microbiologists, laboratory managers, laboratory and hospital administration and others necessary to achieve territory sales objectives

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of microbiology and microbiology laboratory practices
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a capital equipment sales person preferably working within Diagnostic Pathology.
  • Communication skills with ability to train sales personnel.
  • Take a lead role in sales and marketing the APAS based instruments in the field
  • Build relationships with customers and influencers at all levels of the laboratory and greater healthcare environment
