New Horizons is lead agency for the Partners in Recovery (PIR) team in the Inner West.

Work in a consortium and collaborate with 5 leading mental health organisations.

This is a new opportunity based in our Ashfield Office and you will report to the PIR Manager in the PIR Team.

 

This is a maximum term contract ending 30 June 2019 with the potential for extension.

Working days are Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours between 7.30am and 5pm.

 

Day to Day duties

 

  • Provide operational and procedural direction to the team, setting clear team and individual objectives, ensuring these are understood by the team
  • Develop the skills of the team by creating an environment that encourages ideas, quality improvement and reflection on performance, through coaching, mentoring and regular feedback 
  • Champion strategic direction and promote and support change initiatives as they occur
  • Ensure employee rosters, resources, brokerage and other expenditure aligns to budgets
  • Ensure customer support is person centred and align to customer aspirations. Proactively seek innovative ways to support customer journey
  • Understand and apply contractual obligations, NDIS guidelines, framework and service offerings, including building awareness in the community.
  • Understand and promote the organisations risk & compliance framework, and ensure team is operating within it
  • Advanced competency in working with people with a mental illness and Disability and demonstrated knowledge of the relevant disability service standards, Mental Health Act and other legislative requirements,

 

What you need to have:

 

  • Ability to actively navigate and adapt to change ​
  • Strong skills in managing a program/service, with experience in managing a budget and preparing rosters
  • Proven experience in leading teams with commitment to ongoing development to build capability, demonstrating a proactive, supportive and inclusive management style which contributes to a constructive and innovative workplace culture
  • Proven experience in developing creative solutions to overcome day to day challenges
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or knowledge and experience in a similar role within the human services industry
