Fixed Term - Full time 12 months – 4th February 2019 to 2nd February 2020

The Women’s is a centre of excellence for perinatal care, research and education, with more than 7,000 births per year. The Maternity Service at the Women’s is structured to provide quality care to women by the most appropriately qualified clinician. Obstetricians in the multidisciplinary teams provide clinical care with midwives, trainees, other medical specialists and allied health practitioners to women from a geographical area and to higher risk women from outside the local area. In addition some women with complex clinical needs may receive clinical care in specialist clinics.
Registrars in Obstetrics and Gynaecology are responsible for the provision of excellent clinical care to women who are outpatients or inpatients of the Royal Women’s Hospital and their babies and families.
A vacancy exists at the Royal Women's Hospital for Unaccredited O&G Registrars to commence in the new Medical Clinical Year. The Women's is committed to ongoing professional development of all employees. To support the clinical development of medical staff, we provide regular rotations and host a wide range of clinical and audit meetings, as well as specific teaching sessions.
Your duties will include the following:
Provide care in consultation with supervising, Senior Registrars, Fellows and Consultants as appropriate.
Provide care in accordance with rosters, daily duties and notes to daily duties as published on the Junior Medical Staff rosters website and varied from time to time (except as otherwise directed).
Provide care comprehensively including timely record-keeping, discharge preparation and communication with referring practitioners and those providing ongoing care.
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
MBBS or equivalent qualification
Candidates who have obtained at least two (2) years in the role of an O&G HMO and/or at least completed one year as an Unaccredited Registrar within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology area of speciality by the end of 2018.
Medical Practitioner Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Clinical experience at level appropriate for position.
The Classification and Salary scale will be dependent on experience and you will be appointed and in accordance to the AMA: Australian Medical Association (Victoria) Doctors in Training Agreement 2013 and its successor Agreement – AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021.
