Where you'll be working Population Health based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital campus Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. What you'll be doing The position will build capacity within the Aboriginal workforce to develop and implement population health strategies to protect and promote the health of the people of Sydney Local Health District. The holder of this position will participate in the NSW Aboriginal Population Health Training Initiative and complete a series of work placements within Sydney Local Health District that provide broad experience of population health practice. They will also completing a Masters in Public Health degree at a university in NSW, part-time study by distance learning. Selection Criteria Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (pursuant to Section 14 (d) of the Anti-discrimination Act 1997) Meet the admission requirements for the post graduate Master Public Health degree at a university in NSW Demonstrated capacity to work under supervision to achieve workplace learning outcomes Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and numeracy Demonstrated ability to implement and prioritise competing tasks according to a service plan and deadline Demonstrated relevant computer skills Availability to be deployed at short notice to support the investigation of public health problems SLHD is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion.
