Talking Together Speech Pathology primarily assess and treat pre-school and early primary school aged children who are at risk of developing or who already demonstrate developmental delays and specific communication difficulties. You will be required to service a varied paediatric caseload, including speech, fluency, language, literacy and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). 

The position can be either part-time or full time. Flexible hours can be negotiated to fit your schedule and lifestyle.  we are open Monday - Friday.

At Talking Together Speech Pathology, you will be expected to provide services at the clinic primarily, and when required or deemed more appropriate at clients homes, schools, kindergartens and childcare centres.

Prerequisites include:

  • Membership with Speech Pathology Australia and the SPA self-regulation program.
  • A current drivers license, own car, computer, and mobile phone.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current clear Australian National Police Check.
  • Must have own Professional Indemnity Insurance. 
  • Experience working with preschool and school age children.
  • Knowledge and experience in the support of children on the Autism Spectrum and other developmental delays.
  • Proficient communication, organisational and computer skills.
  • Skills and experience in the assessment and management of common presenting issues.
  • Caring interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to responsibilities of this significant role.

Speech Pathologist will be expected to;

  • Assess and diagnose clients with a range of communication disorders, including developmental delays.
  • Treat and manage a caseload effectively and ethically.
  • Work in the clinic and outside to schools/preschools/homes.
  • Write reports in relation to assessments and Medicare requirements.
  • Support children with NDIS funding and comply with reporting requirements. 
  • Adopt a multidisciplinary approach in treating clients by working with teachers, OTs, psychologists and other health care professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients and their families.
  • Able to handle difficult and challenging situations with flexibility and adaptability.
