Your new company
A renown National Not-for-Profit organisation with a long history of providing high quality service to the North Queensland community. The organisation provides counselling, mediation, family dispute resolution, youth services and community engagement.

Your new role
You will be providing support to families by facilitating negotiations in family dispute resolutions. You will offer early intervention and prevention, community education, and support services. The primary purpose of this role is to assist families on focusing on the best interested of children and youth. Other responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Undertake client intake, risk and needs assessment to determine appropriate for mediation
  • Undertake family dispute resolution and case management with couples, families and individuals
  • Apply knowledge of relevant theoretical models and frameworks (FDR, conflict resolution, child development and child inclusive mediation) to ensure FDR practice appropriate to client needs
  • Conduct assessments of clients and make appropriate referrals as necessary
  • Maintain appropriate files, records and complete other required documentation within the agency guidelines


What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will required to have the below credentials:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Law, Social Sciences or Family Dispute Resolution /mediation
  • Experience in family dispute resolution and child-focused practices and the ability to articulate the family dispute resolution process
  • Uphold reasonable professional standards in the provision of FDR services at all time
  • Ability to possess a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment (Blue Card and a yellow card exemption) from the Public Safety Business Agency (PSBA)
  • Possession of a ‘C’ class driver’s licence
