THE ROLE
GenesisCare is seeking a qualified and experienced Physicist to take on the role as Director of Medical Physics, based in QLD. Reporting into the National Physics Services Manager, the role is broadly responsible for leading and driving a team of Medical Physicists in providing a high level of support to the practices and is expected to take a proactive approach in the ongoing development and support of the clinical services throughout QLD.
The successful applicant will have opportunities to lead physics and clinical equipment commissioning, physics support for treatment planning and clinical services, clinically relevant research and development and supervision of registrars and medical physics students. There is also the opportunity to lead projects across our national and global network.
Treatment techniques across our network include VMAT, IMRT, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, SRS and SABR. The QLD network operates both Varian (TrueBeam, iX and HD120) and Elekta (Versa) linear accelerators. Treatment planning is by Eclipse and BrainLab’s iPlan and Elements and Mosaiq is the R&V system.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENT FOR THE POSITION
- Eligible to be on the ACPSEM Register of Qualified Physicists.
- Applicants should have exceptional clinical experience post certification.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience in liaising, influencing and negotiating with people at all levels of an organisation.
- Strong time-management skills with respect to managing a significant workload and achieving quality outcomes.
- A willingness to participate in the supervision of ACPSEM TEAP registrars is essential.
