Where you'll be working
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to join our team.

This role sits within the Adult Mental Health Unit of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital with ample public transport access and parking available. You would be working as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team who values employees and their contribution to health services management and high quality clinical service delivery.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.


Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:       

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills in computer use and applications such as Windows, word processing and database.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
