This hospital offers medical and services to a population of more than 260,000 in within southeast Victoria. Recently undergone a $73 million development which includes a brand new, state of the art, Emergency Department. The well-equipped newly completed ED with 24 points of care and a 12-bed short stay unit, is supported by an onsite Cardiac Catheter Lab, and Intensive Care Unit.
The health care is able to provide emergency care, elective surgery, maternity, aged care, rehabilitation, pharmacy and mental health services both at the hospital and sites across the region.
The hospital treats about 130,000 people every year with more than a quarter of them seen by the busy Emergency Department. With 289 beds and treatment chairs and is a teaching hospital closely affiliated with University's as well as actively participate in undergraduate teaching.
Known for its natural beauty, located approximately 150 kilometres south-east of Melbourne the City is a resource rich area with abundant forest and rich agricultural land, City's cultural scene is spread right across the major townships with retail, fine dining, attractions, arts, music, theatre and sporting events.
The region is a centre for hosting large national and international sporting events, in addition to a diverse and exciting range of cultural and community events.
We are now calling for applicants who are interested in full time or part time contracts to work as an Emergency Department Physician at this busy Regional Hospital. Interested Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEMs) and successful Fellowship examination candidates are encouraged to apply.
You will be working as part of a highly professional and enthusiastic team of specialists, junior medical staff and nursing staff providing emergency services. The Hospital is the regional trauma centre with a helicopter on site, and has approximately 34,000 attendances per year in the Emergency Department. Providing a friendly team oriented environment and good support from the hospital clinical and administrative units.
Applications will have:
1) Australian citizen or permanent resident, or eligible for sponsorship as a permanent resident.
2) Current authority to practice as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) / Medical Board of Australia, or eligibility for same.
3)Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award or other specialist recognition
4)Demonstrated technical and professional competence as a Consultant Emergency Medicine Specialist, and in the specialty practice of Emergency Medicine, with clinical hospital experience.
5)Demonstrated participation in, and commitment to quality assurance activities relevant to speciality; and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
