Are you a Registered Nurse looking to join our management team as Nurse Unit Manager of the Emergency Department?

Position Responsibilities -

The position is responsible for providing leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment and direction to the department to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital/facility.

You will provide operational direction for the department to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.

As the Nurse Unit Manager you will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.

Hobart Private Hospital is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 146 beds, co-located with the Royal Hobart Hospital in the heart of the city. The Hospital provides Emergency, Cardiac, Medical, Surgical, Maternity, Perioperative and Day Surgery services.
Selection Criteria:
  • Current Registration with AHPRA as RN Level 1
  • Previous experience in clinical leadership roles
  • Post graduate qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years emergency nursing experience
  • Understanding of NSQHS [National Standards]
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and consumer-centred care
  • A commitment to work proactively in achieving Hospital targets
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
Desirable Criteria:
  • A management degree or working towards
