Join a long standing FNQ physiotherapy practice based in Cairns Northern Beaches.

Your new employer

The practice owner has over 36 years' experience and has successfully operated in FNQ for 20 years, currently operating 2 practices. This physiotherapy practice looks after patients of all ages from local residents, sporting teams, aged care to holiday makers. They have strong and long-standing relationships with local medical teams and support services. They are BUPA preferred, in the HCF More for Muscles programme and accept Workcover, EPD, DVA and 3rd Party clients.

They have a hands-on approach and encourage best practice treatments for their patients highlighting their physiotherapists with special interests. Clinical Pilates classes are run at both practices. Their offer treatments and ongoing rehabilitation for patients with sports injuries, post-operations, stroke and chronic chest conditions, migraines to name a few.

There is a definite focus on work-life balance and the workplace is easy-going with a friendly and inclusive culture. The business owner offers regular mentoring and encourages participation from everyone at the clinical meetings. The practice focuses on the patients' care and speedy recovery not to capitalise on number of returning visits. Your new role

You will be based in the Northern Beaches of Cairns. This role is Monday through to Friday and you will be working with an established client-base looking after 55 to 60 patients through the week. The majority of your working week will be at the practice with some occasional home visits within a close radium of the clinic. You are not required to work overtime unless you wish to increase your income.

The focus of your role

• Apply a high level of professional judgement and knowledge to provide a wide range of physiotherapy supports to children and adults with a variety of needs
• Assess the functional mobility, movement and balance, postural care and developmental needs of the client utilising a range of formal and informal assessment techniques and tools
• Design intervention plans that are holistic and outcomes driven
• Provide support and assist clients and families with the implementation of intervention plans and programs
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, families, team members and other key stakeholders
• Manage a caseload, prioritising needs and completing client records

About You

To be successful in this role, you must be a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a Bachelor Degree recognised in Australia and AHPRA registered. You will need a good understanding of manual handling techniques, post-surgical rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation and chest physiotherapy. Experience in dry needling and clinical Pilates is desirable, but not essential.

Ideally you have few years of clinical experience; however confident graduates are welcome to apply. Appropriate training and support will be provided.

You must be comfortable in using technology and online tools for reporting and communication and you'll need a current driver's licence. Appropriate certification to work with children, youth and elderly would be highly regarded.
