About the role
Our rapidly growing organisation is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist with experience and a keen interest in working in older adult mental health. This role has a strong focus on working with individuals with dementia and other neurological progressive illnesses. The successful applicant must have a strong commitment to customer service, with a high level of interpersonal skills and a desire to develop and gain further specialised clinical expertise. Work as part of a small tight knit team of professionals with a focus on providing the evidence based practice and a desire to make a real difference in the life of our clients.
This roles is comprised of a mix of gerontology functional assessment, the development of staged functional and occupational activities, run engagement programs for our dementia clients, along with assisting our team in providing pain management services and other equipment prescription. This role is supported by senior therapists and our dedicated clinical education team. Family friendly hours, work alongside other Physio's and OT's at a single facility.
Position Requirements
- Full registration with AHPRA and current Victorian license required
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and problem solving skills
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously
- Start Date - early Aug 2018
