PIPER Perinatal Oncall Obstetrician

The Role:

Opportunities are available for Consultant Obstetricians to join the PIPER Perinatal Consultant group.  The Paediatric Infant and Perinatal Emergency retrieval service (PIPER) is based at The Royal Children's Hospital campus in Parkville.    The PIPER Perinatal group comprises Consultant Obstetricians who provide a 24/7 triage service via a non-exclusive oncall roster.  The key roles of triage of emergency perinatal referrals includes collaborative decision making about the need for in utero transfer, the safety of transfer, and the provision of stabilisation advice for high risk pregnant women.      

To be successful in this role:

You will have a passion for high quality care and an appreciation of the complexities of referral and transfer of high risk pregnant women where emergency in utero transfer may be required.
