About the Role
Due to the growth of our business, we are seeking to add a Senior Speech Therapist to work with and lead and mentor younger Speech Pathologists. Work with our supportive and passionate multi-disciplinary teams, which includes Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians and Podiatrists, to provide holistic and best service to our clients.
This full time, permanent role provides a fantastic opportunity to be exposed to a vast variety of patient conditions and patient streams, and includes paediatric and adults clients. This is a challenging and exciting role for the right person, with lots of scope for development and diverse application of your professional skills and experience.
This role will be based in our modern Blacktown Facility, with one day a week at our Thornleigh office, taking over an existing caseload.
About the Duties
This role will provide services in a number of areas including:
- Assess and diagnose communication disorders
- Design and use of communication aids in treatment of clients
- Develop, implement, monitor and review treatment plans
- Assessment and management of swallowing problems
- Coordinate treatment with other practitioners (where appropriate)
- Provide education to clients, families, the community and other practitioners/ staff
- Involvement in health promotions, quality improvement activities
- Opportunity to be involved in marketing and business development
About You
- Passionate about providing a quality service and contributing to the overall well-being of clients, and achieving sustainable outcomes
- Want to lead and develop younger team members
- Degree in Speech Pathology and registration with SPA
- Patience, empathy and ability to effectively communicate with clients and build rapport
- Initiative and good problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven written and verbal communication skills and clear report writing skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proven organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Must provide a current Working With Children Check
- Current driver's license and own vehicle
