About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to provide high quality psychiatry services to consumers of the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, to provide clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team in Central West HHS and to maintain effective links to our inpatient referral centre at Rockhampton Hospital Mental Health Unit.
The position will be required to provide outreach services to Winton, Barcaldine, Blackall and Alpha Hospitals on a monthly basis. Mental Health services for Central West Hospital and Health Service are provided as a single co-ordinated outpatient service across multiple sites. There is no dedicated inpatient mental health beds in Central West HHS although there is facility for interim emergency inpatient care pending formal consultation and transfer.
Central West Health is keen to discuss how you as a specialist psychiatrist could meet our clients' Mental Health Service needs. You could work in a variety of potential combinations of services. These options include:

A full time or substantial part time position based in Longreach with or without a private practice option.

A less than full time total commitment with private practice options in Central West if preferred.

Any of the above including a FIFO option, with a home base in a location of your choice.
Senior Medical Officers across the CWHHS are managed as a group practice of around 10-15 doctors across the region and you will be required to contribute to the development of a cohesive and supportive team environment for this group. An enthusiasm for proactively maintaining doctor's health for this group will be favourably received.
This position reports both professionally and administratively to the Central West Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) in Longreach.
Salary Information:
The total remuneration value of between $383,478 - $468,256 p.a (refer to Annexure A in the role description for detailed salary information)., (Classification: L18-L23; L25-L27); Permanent Full Time; Applications will remain current for 12 months.
