The Role:
An opportunity exists within the Social Work Department for a Grade 1 Social Worker position available on a fixed term basis until November 2018. This position will draw on your experiences in the comprehensive assessment of factors impacting on health and wellbeing and your skills in a range of intervention modalities in responding to vulnerable children and families; parenting strategies, family functioning, disability support and grief and loss. This position is for an experienced social worker to work with children and their families presenting with a range of complex medical, disability and psychosocial issues in the acute hospital setting as well as in the community.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and a strong team player yet with the ability to work independently.
The Social Work Department provides high quality supervision and education programs.
All applicants must be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and meet AASW CPE accreditation standards. Experience in working within a health based setting is preferred.
