nib’s Benefits and Provider Relations division is responsible for contracting and managing the relationships for all Health Service contracting on behalf on the nib Group.
To support nib’s broader organisational strategy around member personalisation, health and empowerment, clinical innovation and health service contracting, our Benefits and Provider Relations division has recently transformed to ensure we are able to drive momentum and evolve to deliver on nib’s visions and strategy whilst delivering more value to our members.
As such, a new opportunity exists for a Health Service Portfolio Manager to support the development of nib’s new health service relationship strategy and lead the implementation of this strategy to our hospital and health service provider.
This opportunity can be based out of either our Newcastle, Sydney or Melbourne locations.
What you’ll do
This role will see you supporting and contributing to the development of a new relationship strategy which is focused on improving our relationship with hospital and health service providers while ensuring we receive value for money from these relationships through quality provision of services to nib members.
Leading a small team, you report directly to the Group Manager Health Service Funding to execute the relationship strategy and drive improved outcomes to nib, our members and internal stakeholders who interact with hospital and health service providers. Key to the successful implementation of the relationship strategy will be your ability to work with your peers in addressing and reducing the application of low value care to nib members by hospital providers.
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally come from a hospital or health service background with a strong understanding of the complexities, challenges and behaviours of hospital or health service providers. You will have a passion for relationship management combined with a solid analytical mind which uses facts to validate and change behaviour.
You ideally have direct experience in hospital and Private Health Insurance relationships or negotiations and have solid grounding in funding mechanism and commercial terms traditionally used in purchase of health services from hospital or health service providers.
You are a driven individual, who can work autonomously to deliver outcomes, and ideally have experience managing small and effective teams. You thrive in an environment which allows for lateral thinking and you understand the value of internal and external relationship required to drive outcomes and changes in an organisation.
