An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Unaccredited Ophthalmology Registrar to join our Ophthalmology unit from August 2018.
Details of Department
The Ophthalmology unit forms part of the Division of Surgery, Anaesthesia & Procedural Medicine. The Ophthalmology unit has 8 Consultant Surgeons and 1 Accredited Registrar on rotation from The Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital. The position is located at the Austin and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospitals. The Head of Ophthalmology is Dr Joan Cosgrove.
Details of position/position requirements
The position of the Unaccredited Ophthalmology Registrar involves the management and care of ophthalmology patients in every respect, including assessment, operative and non-operative management and postoperative care and follow up in close conjunction with junior and Consultant staff.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Demonstrate a commitment to Austin Health values.
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia.
- Have appropriate training and experience in ophthalmology.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care.
- Demonstrate appropriate surgical competency.
