Established in 1938, Fresh Hope Care, an Agency of Fresh Hope (Churches of Christ in NSW), is a not-for-profit Christian organisation providing Aged Care throughout metropolitan and regional NSW. Services include a range of Home Care services designed to give elderly people the support they need to stay in their own home safely and securely for as long as possible, Retirement Living Villages and Residential Care Services. Your new role as Registered Nurse provides holistic care to residents and leadership for staff and is a pivotal part of our care team.  As a member of our care team you will be supported by our Deputy Director of Nursing and report to the Manger of Residential Services.

 

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing holistic care and clinical leadership for staff in an environment of professional and personal development in the care of residents;
  • Completing documentation, including participation in ACFI assessments and completion of care plans;
  • Liaising with doctors, allied health, families and residents as required to deliver high quality care;
  • Ensuring that services provided are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Fresh Hope.

 

To be successful in your role as Registered Nurse you will need to demonstrate:

  • Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Experience in Aged Care, with a minimum of 2 years post-basic or post-graduate nursing experience; 
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulations and evidence based best practice relevant to aged care;
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience in maintaining quality systems within the care environment, preferably aged and community care or health care system;
  • Knowledge and understanding of ACFI and submission requirements (essential)
  • Moderate computer literacy skills;
  • Thorough understanding of continuous improvement;
  • Highly organised and an ability to use and set up systems;
  • Experience in managing/mentoring care staff and success in managing change. 

 

A current National Criminal History Record Check suitable for aged care (or willingness to obtain) is essential.

Remuneration is based on the Living Care Enterprise Agreement 2014.
