We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to work within the Cancer Prevention and Research division and the Make Smoking History (MSH) team.

 

Reporting to the MSH Manager and working with key internal and external stakeholders you will be responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of the MSH Priority Settings project.

Your other main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Ensure the program and its activities align with evidence based tobacco control
  • Recruit community services and guide them through an organisational change process to deliver a Make Smoking History project for staff and clients
  • Work effectively with the community service sector, stakeholders and other agencies to raise awareness of the need to address tobacco use across the community service sector
  • Supervise the workflow of the MSH Priority Settings Project Officer
  • Manage key external relationships with other community service Peak Bodies.
  • Oversee and service the MSH Community Services Steering Group
  • Create and develop tools and resources as appropriate
  • Ensure regular evaluation and reporting of the program and its activities is completed and make necessary changes to build capacity of the program

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification in a health or social services related profession
  • Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience in a project role
  • Strong experience and skills in stakeholder engagement
  • Knowledge of tobacco control issues
  • Experience or understanding of working with vulnerable groups is desirable
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proven organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Actively foster the development of a culture consistent with the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Positive approach to the workplace

Based in Subiaco, this position is a full time and fixed term until 31 December 2019.
