The Role
The Executive Officer provides strategic, high-level advice, support and assistance to the Commissioner and coordinates secretariat activities on behalf of the commissioner and other key committees.
This role will manage timely and quality support for whole of agency issues and planning and reporting, including strategic plans, business plans and Accountability frameworks.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the office of the Commissioner operates smoothly and efficiently, as the central coordination point.
- Lead the coordination of whole of agency planning and reporting for the Commissioner's Strategic plan, business plan and reports.
- Manage high priority or sensitive projects, including contract management of specific projects.
- Provide policy advice on strategic matters and issues.
- Manage the provision of high level executive assistance.
- Prepare briefs, discussion papers, correspondence and presentations.
Main Requirements
- Experience managing a diverse range of complex and sensitive issues in a high volume environment.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, with conflicting deadlines/priorities.
- Proven experience in state government, working with the Commissioner/Executives etc.
- Proven ability building strategic relationships across govt departments.
- Strong leadership skills.
