Band 5 - $67,002 - $76,716 + Super

An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a highly motivated professional to join Council’s Engineering & Environmental Services Department as a Civil Works Inspector.

With a strong customer service focus, you will be responsible for performing inspections and administrative tasks to ensure Council’s assets are protected as well as issuing a range of Consents and Permits in accordance with relevant legislation. The position is also responsible for the provision of technical advice for private developments, subdivisions and a range of other engineering issues from customer queries as well as the supervision of contractors and service authority works to ensure compliance with Council standards.

To be successful in this position, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the supervision of civil works and administration of permits, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with a particular emphasis on drainage and roads.
