The Contract Management Branch, Business Services, within Corrections Victoria (CV), is directly responsible for the management of a number of major prisons and prisoner related contracts as well as oversight of other contracts within CV.

There is an opportunity for an experienced person to join the Contract Management Branch in the role of Contract Officer. This is an 18 month fixed-term opportunity until approximately 14 April 2020.

The Contract Officer will be responsible for monitoring various components of individual contracts and contributing to ongoing contract management business requirements within the branch. This role will ensure compliance within the private prisons and be a senior representative for the Contract Management Branch onsite at the multiple prison locations.

In addition, this role will also be responsible for conducting analysis, audits and reviews into various aspects of the contract and contract functions, and for constructing reports for senior and executive management and stakeholders.

Some of the key requirements of the role are:

  • Ensuring the contracts managed within the Contract Management Branch adhere to CV's contract obligations
  • Review and report on the delivery of contracts and contract functions including site inspections and validation reviews
  • Undertake detailed analysis to provide conclusions relating to contractual or operational issues
  • Provide detailed advice on the delivery of contracts, projects, budgets and other issues
  • Ensure prompt and cost effective actions are taken to ensure contract compliance is maintained

To be successful you will have:

  • An understanding of the operational environment within a complex environment
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in contract management
  • The ability to prepare comprehensive written reports including commercial and contractual analysis
  • Excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to negotiate with confidence
  • Strong commercial acumen, and be proactive and driven
