About VicRoads Eastern Region

Due to our increased program of work, we have a 24 month limited tenure opportunity available. The role is within the Project Planning within Eastern Region, based at Traralgon.

The Project Planning team is a new, motivated and focused team that is scoping, developing and delivering the pre-construction activities for a range of road network improvement projects to our community. For example:
? $50 million upgrade to the Princes Highway from Sale to the NSW Border;
? $10 million upgrade to the Great Alpine Road from Bruthen to Cobungra; and
? $7 million roundabout at the Phillip Island Road and Woolamai Beach Road intersection.

We will achieve the delivery of these projects by working in partnership areas across VicRoads, collaborating with other Victorian government agencies and utility providers.  To improve the delivery of our projects, we invest in building our people's capabilities through industry training and sharing experiences.

About the role

As a Senior Projects Engineer, you will be involved in a range of planning and pre-construction activities comprising of:
?  Coordinating and monitoring the development and delivery of projects and also preparing and administering complex contract/quotation specifications 
?  Applying competence in pre-construction, construction and contract administration of projects, including an understanding of risk, safety and quality management principles.
?   Public participation, involving primary stakeholders and community with the development of projects;
?   Leading, coaching and supporting team members;

This role has significant focus on the management of various planning and pre-construction projects which will drive and shape the road infrastructure throughout Gippsland over the next 1 to 5 years. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and apply management and leadership skills, a wide range of planning and construction principles and work and interact within a team environment.

A qualification in Civil Engineering is essential and Planning / Project Management experience is desirable. A current and valid driver's licence is also required to be considered for this role.
